Welcoming Kate
We are excited to welcome Kate Fann to the Grace’s Table Team! Kate will be taking on the role of Family Advocate and working with the teen mamas in our Educate and Empower and life-skills groups.
Kate is a Grand Rapids native and graduated from GVSU. Before coming to Grace’s Table, Kate volunteered at GRPS and worked as a para-professional at East Leonard School. She was also the director of the Kids Hope program at her church, where she helped facilitate mentorships for the kids at East Leonard. Kate brings lots of experience to our team and will use her background in organizing meetings, events, and other non-profit work to help serve the families we work with!
Kate looks forward to being hands-on and meeting the needs of the families we serve. She loves to connect with new people and hear their stories, and she is continually learning more about how to be a good advocate for the people she serves and how to meet them where they are.
Kate first learned of Grace’s Table when Lisa, our executive director, spoke at Crossroads Bible Church. Then, one of her friends became a mentor and recommended the organization to her. When Kate saw the posting for our family advocate position, she immediately knew it would be a good fit.
Outside of work, Kate loves watching movies with her husband and two teenage sons. She loves reading (her favorite book is The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak), music, and has recently gotten into oil painting!
We can’t wait to see how Kate brings her creativity and insight to our team!
If you could have dinner with someone famous, who would it be?
Freddie Murcury! I’d love to pick his brain. Or Princess Diana. Did you know that they were friends??
