Help Us Grow!
Introducing the next revolution of Grace’s Table.
Together, we can help house, educate, and impact teen moms and their families for generations.
HOW CAN WE RAISE $1.75 MILLION FOR SPACE FOR GRACE?
It is with YOUR help that we can raise the funding to make the Bridge Street property our SPACE FOR GRACE. We invite you to help build this vision, one "brick" at a time.
HERE ARE A FEW WAYS YOU CAN HELP!
DONATE - Help “build” a brighter future for generations to come - Buy a Brick (or 10)!
HOST A PARTY - Host a small fundraising gathering in your home and invite Lisa to share the vision.
ASK 10 - Ask 10 of your friends/family/network to Buy a Brick, or to give whatever amount they feel called to give.
CHURCH OR FAITH GROUP - Invite Lisa to speak at your church or faith group!
WHAT IS THE IMMEDIATE IMPACT THAT SPACE FOR GRACE WILL HAVE?
The Bridge Street Property will give us the physical space we need to go deeper with young moms and their children, and provide the stability they require in order to achieve healing and progress in these five pillars...
Creating a safe and open place for young moms and their kids to learn the value assigned to them by their heavenly Father.
Provide hands on life skills and parenting support for both tenants and Grace’s Table participants who attend events housed at the Bridge Street Property.
Help young moms develop personal self awareness and relationship building abilities as well as house group therapy for all Grace’s Table participants.
Allow support and freedom for young moms to better themselves through education, and on the job experience by volunteering their time in our program to reach other young moms and children.
Develop a financial savings plan and learn budgeting skills. Rather than rent, tenants will allocate these funds to building a savings “nest egg” in order to build financial independence upon leaving the Bridge Street Property.
WHAT IS THE IMPACT THAT SPACE FOR GRACE WILL HAVE ON FUTURE GENERATIONS?
It's not just an opportunity...it's our responsibility to do what we can!
We have the opportunity to bring prevention and protection to families! The outcome will be healthier living and better futures both economically, educationally, emotionally. See the below reality that Grace’s Table is working to counteract in our world.
TEEN MOM BIRTH RATE IN KENT COUNTY - In 2013 there were 904 babies born to girls between the ages of 15 and 19 in Kent County – a rate of 43.1 births per 1,000 girls and much higher than the national rate of 26.5 in the same age group.
EDUCATIONAL IMPACTS - Only about 50 percent of teen mothers receive their high school diploma by the time they turn 22, versus roughly 90 percent of women who did not give birth during adolescence.
GENERATIONAL STATS - Teenage pregnancy affects not only the mother, but her children as well. Children of teenage mothers are more likely to have lower school achievement and high school graduation rates, have more health problems, be incarcerated at some point during adolescence, give birth themselves as a teenager, and face unemployment as a young adult.
ECONOMIC IMPACT - The cumulative effects of teenage pregnancy cost U.S. taxpayers $9.4 billion in 2010 in increased health and foster care, increased incarceration rates among children of teen parents, and lost tax revenue because of lower educational attainment and income among teen mothers.
BREAKING A CYCLE - Perhaps the most troubling statistic regarding teen pregnancy is that roughly one in five teens will have a second child before the age of 20.
Most teen moms are impacted by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) and without stability and support their children are being brought right into a more compromised existence. Having a SPACE FOR GRACE can literally help rewire brain function for the families served and change the DNA that gets passed to future generations!
