Welcoming Andy: A Heart-Driven Advocate Joining Our Grace’s Table Family

We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Andy, the newest member of our Grace's Table family. Andy brings a unique blend of academic qualifications, experience in developing programs and organizations, and a passion for protecting and honoring children that aligns perfectly with our mission.

 Years of Experience and Passion

Andy holds a B.A. in Communication Arts and an M.A. in Popular Culture. Additionally, He brings over 10 years of experience in nonprofit work, including founding the Manasseh Project, a shelter for trafficking victims. Andy also co-founded the HQ (AYA) Drop-in center and served as interim executive director of 20 Liters, an international clean water initiative.

Andy's deep emotional connection to the children he serves sets him apart. His passion for this work began after witnessing children facing adversity, and his broken heart became the driving force behind his mission. He pursues connections with people who have experienced challenges first-hand to understand better the needs and desires of those he works with.

A Meeting of the Minds

Andy first crossed paths with Grace's Table in 2014, when he and our Executive Director, Lisa, pitched plans for starting their nonprofits. Andy was drawn to our mission because of his first-hand experience with the struggles faced by single mothers. He is especially fond of our focus on building children’s sense of attachment and developing community.

A Member of the Grace’s Table Family

As Director of Programs and Operations at Grace’s Table, Andy is responsible for ensuring that our team has everything we need. From strategic programming to partnerships aligned with the teen mamas' goals, he envisions a space that is buzzing with activity and is focused on creating a community that will have a lasting impact on the families we serve.

Life Beyond Grace’s Table

Outside of work, Andy is happily married to his wife of 23 years. Together, they have four children, three dogs, and two cats. He loves making things and enjoys woodworking and welding, which he views as a form of meditation. Music is a constant companion, and Andy enjoys blasting playlists ranging from Air Supply to Kendrick Lamar (much to the chagrin of his kids!).

If you could have a super power, what would it be?

“If I had a superpower, it would be balancing Serotonin levels. I could put it to good use here. I want to see calm, stable nervous systems. I’d be like reverse Superman; instead of having a Kryptonite, holding babies would fuel my serotonin powers.”

Be sure to tune in next week as Andy takes over the blog to share more of his story!
